Spades Slick is the primary protagonist of the first intermission in the popular webcomic Homestuck. He is the leader of the mob gang known as the Midnight crew. During the intermission, the Midnight Crew was in the progress of executing a heist to a rival gang called the Felt at their mansion. Later on its revealed that the Midnight Crew were four exiles of the kingdom of Derse, with Spades Slick being formally named Jack Noir.
As Jack Noir, he worked under the Black Queen on Derse before removing her from power. He was exiled alongside Draconian Dignitary, Hegemonic Brute, and Courtyard Droll and ended up on a destroyed version of Alternia. At some point he took on the identity of Spades Slick and formed the Midnight Crew with his three fellow exiles. He and the crew rebuilt society inthe form of a flim noir-style cityscape where they would compete with rival gangs such as the Felt.
Before Homestuck was created, Slick was originally introduced as a donated character in a bonus chapter of the creators previous comic Problem Sleuth, and was shown using black magic. However in Homestuck, he does not seem to use any magic and is instead skilled with knives, swords, and his ironclad horse hitcher.
